Pre-Professional
For the student who aspires to a professional career, a personalized individual curriculum is created, and the dancer is mentored as she or he pursues her or his dream. The curriculums include several technique classes per week, private group lessons, performances with the Dreamdancer performance group, as well as private lessons. These classes focus on building strong technique, learning challenging choreography, and teaching to the individual needs of each student.
Additionally, every student in this program will have the opportunity to perform a solo in our spring concert choreographed specifically for her. The Pre-Professional program is a program for the student who is serious and committed to advancing her dance artistry.
Students enrolled in these programs are invited to join by the School Director. Upon an initial meeting between student, parent, instructor, Director, and individual schedule is created for the student. The instructor makes an evaluation mid-way through the year, and any necessary changes or adjustments are made.
The technical and artistic growth made by the pre-professional students is tremendous. This is a demanding program, but one worth its rewards!
Dreamdancer and Junior Dreamdancer Division
Participation in this accelerated program is a positive and motivational experience that will provide new opportunities and encourage students to develop their abilities to the fullest potential.
The Dreamdancer groups are given additional performance opportunities, mainly as featured dancers in our production of The Nutcracker. Workshops, master classes, and lecture demonstrations provide even more enrichment. Finally, Dreamdancers are able to showcase their talent at local community events throughout the year. Being a part of these special performance groups will require a commitment and dedication beyond that of our regular schedule of classes.
Junior Dreamdancers range from grade two to grade five; Dreamdancers are in grade six and up.
